Three 3-hour sessions to go from top-rope basics to real autonomy: a climbing course is the best way to make genuine progress. At Lac du Causse near Brive, across three different crags, or in the Dordogne Valley.
Why a course rather than a single session?
A taster session sparks the passion; a 3 × 3h course builds real skills. Over three days you consolidate safety habits, climb many routes, manage the fear of heights and tackle the techniques that change everything: lead climbing, building anchors, abseiling.
As with all climbing outings in the Dordogne Valley, sessions are led by Alexandre, a state-certified instructor, with all equipment provided.
Three course options
Lac du Causse course — €120 / pers
Ten minutes from Brive-la-Gaillarde, varied limestone crags in a green setting — with a swim in the lake after climbing. Perfect for a first course, from age 10.
Multi-site course — €140 / pers
Three days, three different crags: each site has its own rock and style. The best way to learn to read a route and adapt.
Dordogne Valley course — €150 / pers
The most spectacular option: climbing above the river on the valley’s finest sectors, between the Lot and Corrèze.
