From age 5, children can discover real-rock climbing in complete safety. Beginner sessions, tailor-made birthdays, school trips and day camps: here’s how families climb in the Dordogne and Corrèze.
Climbing: a sport made for kids
Climbing comes naturally to children. With a state-certified instructor it also becomes a school of confidence: daring, focusing, trusting the rope and the belayer. Routes are chosen to suit each child, and all equipment is provided in children’s sizes.
The school crags at Lac du Causse, ten minutes from Brive, are ideal for first climbs — short routes, easy access, and a swim afterwards. See also our guide to the valley’s best climbing sites.
