Paddling down the Dordogne means gliding between cliffs, châteaux and listed villages. Here are the routes, durations and our tips for a great descent, with family or friends.
The Dordogne, an exceptional river
The cleanest river in France and the only one classified a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, the Dordogne offers clear water and idyllic scenery, especially in summer.
Which route, which duration?
- Half-day — 10 km: Gluges → St-Sozy, perfect for a first guided descent.
- Full-day — 19 km: Gluges → Pinsac, to fully enjoy the river (bring a picnic).
Every guided descent starts with an introduction: how to paddle, hold your line, read the river and pass the rapids safely.
